Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by a representative from Safari Seekers Expedition. You’ll be transferred to your hotel in Arusha, where you’ll meet your guide for a pre-trek briefing and equipment check. Enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner and overnight at the hotel, preparing for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Depart from Arusha to Momella Gate – Hike to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m)
After breakfast, depart from your hotel in Arusha and drive approximately 1 hour to Momella Gate (1,500m). The drive takes you through Arusha National Park, where you may spot buffalo, giraffe, and baboons. At the gate, complete the necessary registration before starting your trek. The hike to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) covers about 10.5 km and takes approximately 3-4 hours, passing through diverse landscapes including grasslands, forests, and open plains. Enjoy your first overnight stay with dinner and breakfast provided at Miriakamba Hut.
Day 3: Hiking to Saddle Hut and Little Meru
Following breakfast, depart Miriakamba Hut for the ascent to Saddle Hut (3,570m). The trail passes through heather and moorland, offering spectacular views of the Meru Crater and the Ash Tray. Upon reaching Saddle Hut, enjoy lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) before returning to the hut for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Summit Day
The summit ascent begins around midnight to ensure you reach the summit in time for the stunning sunrise views. The trail to the summit is steep and challenging but rewards you with breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding areas. Reach the summit of Mount Meru at sunrise and enjoy the panoramic vistas of the plains below. Afterward, descend to Saddle Hut for lunch and a well-deserved rest before continuing down to Miriakamba Hut for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Descend and Transfer Back to Arusha
