14-Day Tanzania’s Wilderness Odyssey & Mount Kilimanjaro

Overview: Experience the ultimate Tanzanian adventure with DreamQuest Safaris‘ 14-Day Wilderness Odyssey & Mount Kilimanjaro trek. This journey combines a comprehensive safari through Tanzania’s premier national parks with an exhilarating trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. Explore diverse landscapes, encounter incredible wildlife, and conquer the iconic mountain.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where a DreamQuest Safaris representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Rest and acclimate, and enjoy a welcome dinner at your hotel.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a full day of game drives, spotting wildlife such as giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and lions. Picnic lunch will be provided in the park. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park Travel to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. Engage in morning and afternoon game drives exploring the park’s varied habitats. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before returning to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4-6: Serengeti National Park Depart for Serengeti National Park, with en-route game drives through the stunning landscapes. Spend the next three days enjoying game drives in the Serengeti, observing the wildebeest migration, lions, cheetahs, and other wildlife. Picnic lunches will be provided. Spend your evenings at your chosen Serengeti accommodation.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Head to Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Descend into the crater for a day of game drives, spotting the ‘big five’ and other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater before ascending and returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Travel to Kilimanjaro Base Camp After breakfast, drive back to Arusha and prepare for your Mount Kilimanjaro trek. Transfer to your starting point at Kilimanjaro Base Camp. Overnight stay at a base camp or lodge.

Day 9-13: Mount Kilimanjaro Trek Embark on the trek up Mount Kilimanjaro using the Machame Route (or another route based on your preference). The trek will take you through diverse ecosystems, from lush rainforest to alpine desert and finally to the glaciers at the summit.

• Day 10: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
• Day 11: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
• Day 12: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp
• Day 13: Summit Day – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and descend to Mweka Camp

Day 14: Descend and Departure Complete your descent from Mount Kilimanjaro to Mweka Gate. Transfer back to Arusha where you will have some time to relax and refresh. Enjoy a farewell lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, concluding your epic Tanzanian adventure with DreamQuest Safaris.
